FootyRoom Interview

FootyRoom was nominated for the Best Football Videos Website award. We asked them to talk about the awards, how 2010 had turned out for FootyRoom, future plans and of course, who they would vote for in the awards. Here’s the interview:

1) You’ve been nominated for Best Football Videos Website, chosen by both fans and industry experts, how does it feel?

It feels great to be recognized by football fans and football industry experts, and to be nominated is a real honour. We’ve put a lot of hard work into FootyRoom and being nominated is a great boost for us!

2) What kind of year has 2010 been for FootyRoom?

It’s been a great year for us! We’ve re-designed FootyRoom’s interface and added lots of new features. And this is only the begging for us, as we are looking to build a better online football community.

3) What do you think has been the key factor in your success?

We have received a good number of comments on FootyRoom saying things like “Match finished a minute ago and FootyRoom already posted the highlights” or “The fastest updates I’ve ever seen”. So I think the key factor in our success is that we post match highlights the fastest. Also we try to promote fan interactions and community opinion with things like voting for your team’s performance, commenting on the game and arguing with other football fans who’s best.

4) If you were casting a vote for any of your fellow nominees, who would it be?

Probably 101 Great Goals. Those guys have been in this business for a long time and they’re always doing a great job in posting highlights for a big number of leagues.

5) What’s next for FootyRoom?

We will keep doing all we can to keep our football fans happy. In the future our main goal is to create the biggest online football community, where people would go to watch highlights, talk about the upcoming games, vote, predict, play games, read news and mainly share one love, which is football!

6) Have you seen the Castrol Football Rankings? What do you think about them, and who do you think is the best footballer in the world at the moment?

Yes I’ve seen it on multiple websites before. They have Messi and Ronaldo in top 3. That sounds just about right to me. They couldn’t be too wrong, I’ve read they use latest technology to make the rankings. As for myself I think that Messi deserves to be recognized as the best footballer at the moment.

You can vote for FootyRoom in the following award category:
